Meditating My Way

pexels-photo-91224In today’s fast-paced world, finding time to slow down and relax can be a challenge. Fortunately, there are many ways to meditate, and it’s not just limited to sitting in silence. As I reflect on my life, I realized that I’ve been practicing meditation for a long time in my own way, thanks to my love for music.

Whether I’m listening to music while driving, attending a concert, or wearing headphones while relaxing, I’ve been able to tune out the noise of the world and focus on the present moment. According to what I’ve learned about meditation, this is a form of mindfulness.

To deepen my meditation practice, I’ve add breath work pre meditation, this includes the Wim Hoff breathing method. I then use Sam Harris’s Waking Up app with headphones every morning.  While my mind still wanders at times, I’ve found it easier to bring my thoughts back to the present moment with practice. I’ve come to realize that there’s no right or wrong way to meditate, and the goal is to simply quiet the mind and be present.

The sensation of losing myself in meditation is like a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, and the more I practice, the easier it gets. Though it can be challenging to silence the racing thoughts, the few minutes of total stillness are pure bliss and recharge both my body and mind.

To make the most of my meditation practice, I remind myself that the meaningless thoughts are just that – meaningless – and I let them pass by like clouds in the sky. By letting go of the distractions, I’m able to quiet my mind and experience the moment.

In conclusion, meditation doesn’t have to be a complicated process. It can be as simple as taking time to listen to music and let go of the stresses of daily life. Whether you’re a seasoned meditator or just starting, remember that there’s no right or wrong way to meditate, and it’s all about finding what works for you. With regular practice, you too can experience the many benefits of mindfulness and meditation.
