5 ways to stop summer weight gain

1.Go low carb in the days following the fun. Work days (Yuck)  50 grams or less for 3 days will put my body into ketosis (burning fat for energy)

2.Fast for at least 13 hours a day. Causing the body to burn fat once the glucose has been depleted by lack of carbs. This is ketosis. I try to fast on normal work days. Last meal by 7:00 pm to 9:00 am.  Fasting during the leisure times just doesn’t work for me.

3. Strength exercise once or twice a week with the slow strength training regimen I advocate.

4.Try to get at least 10000 steps a day. I use the Garmin Fenix 3 which keeps track of everything I do. It will also let me know if it’s been a lazy day and time to step it up. Vacations I laugh at it. This is post-vacation, which means back to work.

5.Stick with healthy habits during everyday life. When the vacations and fun times happen your body will be better prepared to burn off the excess fun. Our body will not let us run out of energy. The carbs provide that energy. When there’s too much-refined carb intake, the body stores the carbs as fat. When the carbs aren’t there to make the glucose for energy the body learns how to use the fat for energy with ketones. Ketosis
